Demonstrating a sustainable financial momentum, India’s GST collection for September 2025 soars to ₹1.89 lakh Crore, depicting a 9.1% YoY rise. It has not only surpassed the August GST collection but has also exceeded projections of weaker demand due to the latest rate cuts.
The two rate structures announced on 22nd September witnessed a merger of 28% and 12% slabs into 5% and 18% slabs. This led to 90% of the goods and services moving into the lower bracket. Despite the rate cuts; GST Collection for September 2025 observed a straight gain.

Maharashtra tops the list with GST collection for September 2025 recorded at ₹27,762Cr. Later, it is followed by Karnataka (₹13,495Cr), Tamil Nadu (₹11,413Cr), and Gujarat (₹10,969Cr).
Though a few of the states have witnessed a rise in GST collection for September 2025, there are a few that have witnessed a decline. States like Himachal Pradesh (-4%), Telangana (-5%), and Manipur (-1%) have witnessed a decrease in GST collection.
