After a lot of controversies, ex-shark, Ashneer Grover is back with his new venture ‘CrickPe’. Since his resignation from BharatPe, there have been many lawsuits filed against him and his wife from the board of directors of Bharat Pe. His career seemed gloomy but he staged a comeback by announcing a new venture named Third Unicorn Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of CrickPe.

In this blog we will discuss Ashneer’s new startup, a fantasy sports app – CrickPe in-depth and how it is different from its rivals Dream11, Mobile Premier League (MPL), and Games24x7’s My11 Circle.

Introduction To CrickPe – The Fantasy Cricket App

With the launch of CrickPe, Grover has claimed that “Biggest revolution in Cricket since IPL – only fantasy game paying cricketers for performance! Where you win – cricketer wins – cricket wins !!” in a tweet.

As he specified in the tweet CrickPe – the cricket app will share a part of the total game pot value with actual cricketers playing in a given match. Clarifying further, he said 80% of the pot value would go to the winners, 10% to cricketers, and 10% to CrickPe

With the launch of CrickPe, Grover has entered the fantasy sports arena, which is dominated by the likes of Dream11, My11 Circle, Mobile Premier League (MPL), and others.

Until now, there is no clarification on how the company will pay cricketers or whether they have sought approvals from the Board of Control in India, i.e BCCI.

Features Of CrickPe

CrickPe is a recently launched fantasy cricket app allowing users to create their fantasy cricket team and earn cash rewards based on the overall performance of the team. However, only people over the age of 18 years can participate in this game. Below mentioned are some of the main features of ex-shark Ashneer Grover’s new app:

Limited to cricket only: Unlike other fantasy sports apps, CrickPe is solely restricted to cricket only. Here, users can take part in fantasy cricket games of various tournaments such as IPL, Asia Cup, ICC World Cup, and many more.

Rewards cricketers: As per the app description on the Apple App Store, it will reward some percentage of the game pot to actual cricketers based on their performance in a given match. It is being argued that the direct reward to cricket players will motivate them to perform better and will ultimately benefit the users.

Play in private groups: Apart from open-to-all pools, users can also create their private groups and invite friends to compete against them.

Share your reward with crickets directly: Cric Pe offers a unique feature that no fantasy cricket app has. Here, you can directly share your earnings with your favorite cricketers (it is like tipping) by sending cash rewards starting from Rs. 100 to Rs. 1,00,000 per cricketer per financial year.

Play practice match: If you are new to the cricket sports fantasy app, don’t worry, CrickPe has got you covered. You can participate in contests to hone your skills for free.

More Information On CrickPe – Cricket App

The former co-founder & MD of BharatPe announced his new venture on social media. Under Third Unicorn, his new company launched an app named ‘CrickPe’ – a sports fantasy app. It was launched a week ahead of the beginning of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with an intent to grab early traction in the competitive arena of fantasy sports apps.

The app is available on ‘Play Store’ as well as ‘The app Store’, as of now (when this article was published) it has 100k+ on Google Play Store.

Just like other fantasy sports apps, a user can create his fantasy cricket team and can compete with their friends (by inviting them) or in an open-to-all poll.

With an intent to boost engagement on the app, users can compete with real cricketers and their fantasy teams. Moreover, one can also pay real money to cricketers as a reward for their performance.

On signing up, a new user gets Rs. 50 as a joining bonus and they can withdraw their earnings only after winning a certain amount, provided that they have completed the e-KYC verification process via DigiLocker.

App development company based out of Chandigarh, NetSolutions India Private Limited has developed the CrickPe app, as per their website.

However, the app will not be available for Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, and Telangana because these states have notified fantasy sports as online gambling thus, CrickPe as well as other fantasy sports apps are banned in these states.
