Overview
Munim allows you to add a one-time description for individual items while creating a Sales Invoice.
This temporary description is used only for the current invoice and does not modify the original item description saved in the Item Master.
Benefits
- Add invoice-specific product details.
- Customize item descriptions for a particular customer.
- Include additional information without editing the item master.
- Keep the original item description unchanged.
Enable the Description Column
Before entering a one-time description, ensure that the Description column is visible in the invoice.
Steps
- Open the Create Sales Invoice page.
- Click the Show/Hide Columns option.
- Enable the Description checkbox.
- The Description column will be displayed in the item grid.

Add a One-Time Item Description
Once the Description column is enabled:
Steps
- Select the required item in the invoice.
- Click inside the Description field.
- Enter the required item description.
- Continue creating the invoice and save it.
How It Works
- The item’s default description will be displayed automatically if available.
- You can edit, replace, or add a new description for the current invoice.
- The changes will apply only to the current Sales Invoice.
- The original item description in the Item Master will remain unchanged.
Important Notes
- One-time descriptions are invoice-specific.
- Changes made in the Description field do not update the Item Master.
- This feature is useful when additional product details need to be shown on a specific invoice.
Result
The customized item description will appear on the generated Sales Invoice while keeping the original item master data unchanged.
