Overview
The Journal Voucher module is used to record accounting transactions that do not involve cash or bank movements. It allows you to create debit and credit entries between ledger accounts while maintaining balanced accounting records.

Common Uses
Use a Journal Voucher for transactions such as:
- Recording depreciation entries.
- Passing year-end adjustment entries.
- Recording provisions and accruals.
- Transferring balances between ledger accounts.
- Correcting accounting entries.
- Recording outstanding income or expenses.
- Passing adjustment entries recommended by your accountant or auditor.
Note: Do not use Journal Vouchers for cash receipts, cash payments, bank receipts, or bank payments. Use the appropriate voucher type for those transactions.
Create a Journal Voucher
- Go to Transactions → Journal Voucher.
- Click Create Journal Voucher or press Alt + N.

Enter Journal Voucher Details

| Field | Description |

| JV Date | Select the Journal Voucher date. |
| JV No. | Auto-generated based on the configured numbering series. |
| Reference No. | Enter a reference number (optional). |
| Account | Select the ledger accounts for Debit and Credit entries. |
| Description | Enter a description for the transaction. |
| Debit | Enter the debit amount. |
| Credit | Enter the credit amount. |
| Add Row | Add additional ledger entries if required. |

Save the Journal Voucher
After entering all details:
- Click Save to save the voucher.
- Click Save & Next to save the voucher and create another one.
Result
The Journal Voucher is successfully recorded, and the corresponding ledger accounts are updated with the debit and credit entries.
Important Note
- Journal Vouchers are used only for non-cash and non-bank transactions.
- The total Debit and Credit amounts must always be equal.
- Verify the selected ledger accounts before saving.
- Use Reference No. and Description for easier tracking and auditing.
