The Price History feature helps you view previous sales and purchase rates directly while creating a Sales Invoice. It improves pricing accuracy, reduces manual checking, and helps users quickly identify the latest rates used for a customer or item.
This feature provides three types of price history:
- Item-wise sales rates
- Party-wise item-wise sales rates
- Item-wise purchase rates
Why Use Price History?
The Price History feature helps you:
- View the latest selling rate of an item
- Check customer-specific item rates
- Review previous purchase rates
- Maintain pricing consistency
- Reduce manual searching for past transactions
Enable Price History Feature
Step 1: Open General Settings
- Go to Settings.
- Click General Settings.
Step 2: Enable Required Options
- Open the Transactions tab.
- Enable Show Price History in Sales Invoice.
- Also, Enable Set Party Wise Item Rate.
- Click Save.
Set Party Wise Item Rate
When Set Party Wise Item Rate is enabled, the software automatically fetches the most recent sales rate for the selected customer and item.
Benefits
- Automatically displays the latest customer-specific rate.
- Eliminates the need to manually check previous invoices.
- Saves time during invoice creation.
Open Price History in Sales Invoice
Step 1: Create Sales Invoice
- Go to Sales → Sales Invoice.
- Click Create Invoice or press Alt + N.
- Select the customer.
- Select the required item.
Step 2: Open Price History Sidebar
- Locate the Price History icon beside the selected item.
- Click the icon.
- The Price History sidebar will open.
Item Wise Sales Rate
This option displays the most recent sales invoices for the selected item, regardless of customer.
Information Available
- Invoice Number
- Invoice Date
- MRP
- Sales Rate
Party Wise Item Wise Sales Rate
This option displays previous sales invoices for the selected customer and selected item.
Information Available
- Customer-specific sales history
- Previously charged rates
- Invoice details and dates
Item Wise Purchase Rate
This option displays the most recent purchase rates recorded for the selected item.
Information Available
- Bill Number
- Purchase Date
- MRP
- Purchase Rate
Important Notes
- Price History is available only after enabling the required settings.
- The sidebar displays historical transaction data for quick reference.
- Party-wise rates help maintain consistent pricing for customers.
- Purchase rates can be used as a reference while deciding sales rates.
- Historical rates are displayed for information purposes and can be modified if required.
Result
The Price History feature enables users to access previous sales and purchase rates directly from the Sales Invoice screen, helping maintain pricing consistency and improve billing efficiency.
